Message from the President Founder of the Holocaust Museum in Northern Transylvania
20th Anniversary Commemoration
Dear Friends, Supporters, and Esteemed Guests,
This year, as we mark the 20th anniversary of the Holocaust Museum in Northern Transylvania, we stand united in remembrance, education, and hope. Two decades ago, we embarked on a mission to preserve the memory of the Holocaust victims and survivors, to educate future generations about the horrors of hatred, and to inspire a commitment to a more compassionate and just world.
This museum is more than a building or a collection of artifacts; it is a sanctuary of memory. It tells the stories of the lives tragically cut short and the resilience of those who survived against unimaginable odds. It reflects the indomitable spirit of our community, which has embraced this mission with open hearts and unwavering resolve.
Over the past 20 years, thousands of visitors—students, scholars, and global citizens—have passed through our doors. They have engaged with history, faced the truths of the past, and committed themselves to shaping a better future. This impact would not have been possible without the collective effort of dedicated staff, volunteers, educators, and supporters. To all of you, I offer my deepest gratitude.
As we commemorate this milestone, we renew our pledge to keep the memory alive. We must remain vigilant against antisemitism, racism, and intolerance, which persist in many forms around the world. By remembering the past, we empower ourselves to confront the challenges of the present with courage and conviction.
The Holocaust Museum in Northern Transylvania is a testament to the power of remembrance and the enduring call for justice. Together, let us ensure that this legacy continues to inspire generations to come.
Thank you for standing with us, for remembering, and for building a world where „never again” is not just a promise but a reality.
With gratitude and hope,
Alexander Hecht
